We have been. Repeatedly. We've watched unused banner exposures pile up and had e-mails to unresponsive admins go unanswered. We've joined banner exchanges to find out we were displaying banners to sites that were ridiculously bad and sometimes even offensive and we don't offend easily. In the last year three banner exchanges we belonged to just disappeared, taking our hard-earned credits with them.

One of the good results of these bad experiences is The Adult Writing Banner Exchange. The AWBE only allows quality sites to join. When you earn credits for banner exposures, you get them - they don't pile up in your account - and (so far) no site has been too big for us to easily handle. This banner exchange is primarily for web pages that feature adult orientated reading. Examples would include (but not be limited to) erotic story and book sites, adult themed forums or chats, adult diaries/blogs/journals - really any site that features text aimed at an adults-only audience. Sites that don't feature adult-orientated reading are also now being accepted. This is mostly because so many wanted to join!

We prefer banners that are not too hardcore or graphic - hardcore sites are fine but please send us an R-rated banner. Sites featuring bestiality, child pornography, or other illegal activities are not welcome and will be deleted from the exchange. Stick with consenting adult humans and everything should be fine. The Adult Writing Banner Exchange is a four-for-five exchange, which means for every five banner ads your site shows for other members, other members will show four banners for your site. Sites that are poorly designed or maintained, contain content the management considers inappropriate, or are hosted on free hosting services will not be accepted.
